BEGINNING OF LINE IS BACK!

Beginning of Line is back, and it feels good! I have to tell you, I've missed this place. :) Thankfully, now that I've moved cross-country and gotten settled, I'll be able to get us all back to our regularly scheduled programming!

And we're back with a lovely little story by Vikki Bingham out of the UK, who wonders about the kind of relationship Bill Adama would've had with his father in her slice-of-life story, "Children Through the Cracks," which you can read HERE. It's accompanied by another fabulous screencap by Tray Chester, and an ad by Dora Kecskés, who was the author of the Gara Singh stories that served as Episodes 10 and 11.

As for our regularly scheduled programming, stories will appear here on TUESDAYS at 9AM Pacific Time (I'm in CA, and I'm not waking up early for the East Coast...or the rest of the world, either. So there.) barring any major catastrophes. You still have FOUR more episodes of our Caprica Season 2 to enjoy, and that will take us right through the holidays. After a short hiatus, we're looking to bring you Season 3 at the end of January/beginning of February with 18 NEW STORIES! And possibly a re-designed website. And maybe some other goodies, too.

But in order to do all of this, we need YOU:

1) If you'd like to contribute to Beginning of Line's Caprica Season 3, please email me at beginningofline[at]gmail[dot]com and let me know if you'd like to contribute as a writer, an artist, a musician, a videographer, or any combination of those four! Is there something I'm leaving out that you'd like to contribute? Let me know! I want this to be a site for everyone to enjoy, and I'd like to have features you'd like to see. Send any ideas/comments/suggestions my way!

2) Spread the love! If you like what you see here, tell people! We're on Twitter, and we have a Facebook page. Send the links out to people you know who love Caprica, BSG, sci-fi, or just love reading fan fiction! As more and more people are finding their way to Caprica on Netflix or on DVD, and inevitably getting upset that there's no more Caprica to enjoy, we'd love it if they found their way here!

3) Participate! Even if you're not a contributor to the site directly, we'd still love to hear from you! We have FORUMS where you can talk about that week's story, the other stories in the season, ideas for future Caprica adventures, or just the BSG Universe and sci-fi in general! And obviously, there's commenting here at the blog, too! :)

Welcome back to Beginning of Line, everyone! I hope you enjoy the rest of Caprica Season 2!

Your Guatrau,
Teresa

Artsy Monday: JediTray

Well, Episode TWO of Caprica here at Beginning of Line posts TOMORROW! I hope you all are good and excited!

In the meantime, there's another new feature here at BOL on Mondays! Like The Friday Five, where we'll have a Q&A with our writer for that week, Artsy Mondays will focus on that week's artist! This week, our Q&A is with "JediTray" Chester, the gentleman who provided the lovely screencaps used in Episode One. There will also be a Q&A with Jordan Cannady, writer/director of the fabulous Cylon 7 ad, which will post next Monday.

And now, without further ado, here's JediTray:

1) If you had to choose ONE, what's the most important thing people should know about you?
That I am indeed a nice person, and I love to talk about common interests.

2) What do you enjoy about screencapping as an art form?
When I’m in the process of capping, it takes me back through the episode or film that I am working on, and I ALWAYS, especially with high definition sources, find something or things that I didn’t catch before.

3) Least favorite/most difficult thing about screencapping?
There’s not a lot of privacy here, so distractions can sometimes keep me from capping.  The best time to do this is when the whole apartment complex is asleep and the TV’s are off.

4) How do you decide on an image to capture? Is it motivated by characters you enjoy, a storyline you enjoy, both?
Well, for me, there are two different “modes” of capping.  There can sometimes be a difference between what I cap for a personal project, and what I believe others would want.  When people make requests, I keep in mind that they may want specific things, or a general view of the characters as well as the locales, etc.  In the case of Caprica, EVERYTHING is so beautiful and well done, so the amount of images keeps growing.

5) If the technology were available, would you want to be resurrected as a skin-job cylon?
Most definitely.  Whether or not I’d have a soul or turn against my creators, well that is unknown.  It sure makes for good drama though, doesn’t it?

Welcome to Beginning of Line!

Well, it's finally up and running! Beginning of Line is a place for Caprica fans to explore the world of Caprica and continue the storylines that came to an end this year any frakking way they'd like! :) The So Say We All blog will function as the News page, and will be where you'll find announcements about the goings-on here at the site

Our first story, which you'll see on the CURRENT STORY page, is by a wonderful writer from Australia named Pema Newton. Check out Episode One of our Caprica Season 2, called "Are You Alive?" It also includes lovely screencaps submitted by Tray "JediTray" Chester, and a fabulous "commercial interruption" by Jordan Cannady that might look familiar to you - especially if you went to DragonCon this past year!

That story will be up for a week, after which the next "episode" will go on to the main page. There's a full "season" (18 stories) coming your way, so I hope you'll stop by! Poke around the site, and let me know what you think! I'm always up for suggestions, and I'd love for this to become a place where Caprica fans congregate regularly!

Welcome to Beginning of Line!
